How to stand out as a petite woman

When you walk into a room or go to an event, do ever wonder how could I possibly stand out as a shorter framed woman? How can I walk into a room and feel confident with myself?

As petite women, we tend to not be taken as seriously and most times we are overlooked because we are small. Therefore I compiled a list of things that you can do to help you feel and look your best, as a petite!

Let's get started!

Look for sexy yet classy styles

Finding styles that will cater your body type but also flatter your age is very important for all petite women. I would recommend styles like midi dresses with a slit, silk camisoles and satin slip dresses/skirts and off shoulder tops.

Incorporating sexy/classic styles into your wardrobe will improve your overall looks, without appearing too overdone. If you are unsure of how to navigate this, start with form fitting style tops.

Tailored bottoms

For all petite women, I recommend looking for a quality pair of trousers. I suggest to go for high rise style and flared hem because it helps elongate both your torso and legs. This style also can be worn both day and night which makes it a good investment.

Tailor trousers not only will create more of a polished look but it helps define the body in the most flattering ways.

Form fitting tops

Bodysuits are one of my favorites when it comes to form fitting styles. I find they are so easy to wear and look very sleek on the body.

When it comes to the petite frame, it is key to find tops that don't drown out areas of your body, otherwise you will just look more smaller in frame. Therefore I suggest wearing form fitting tops to help balance out your overall body.

Quality does matter

Over the years of styling and studying different types of fabrication, I discovered that quality in clothing does really matter.

Quality plays a huge factor in how the clothing sits on your body but also how it feels and looks. When the quality isn't the greatest, most likely it won't sit as nicely on your body versus investing in something that will flow more graciously.

It is not always how many pieces you can buy rather use that money to invest in pieces that actually looks and feels nice on the body.

Cohesive color range

Color is another important factor when it comes to petite styling. The key is to find colors that are soft and neutral. I typically recommend starting out with shades of brown to keep things cohesive. I think you can never go wrong with a neutral color palette and the colors will never go out of style.

“Less is better”

As petite women, you must not over do it.

I know we love our super high heels or fun printed items but sometimes "less is better" when it comes to styling. Remember that it is not about what you wear but how you wear that makes or breaks your outfit.

No baggy or super loose clothes!

Ditch the baggy, loose clothing if you are looking to elevate your wardrobe ladies.

I know today's trends are all about baggy and loose clothes but this trend is not for petite women. It not only completely drowns out your frame but it doesn't look polish.

I find if you want to dress more better, it is important to find styles that flatter and fit your body type.

Make the better investment to look for timeless and classic pieces rather than spending your money on something trendy.

Overall these are things I've done to not only look better but to feel more confident as a petite woman. I hope you can take away some of these tips and apply it to your life.
