As someone who has participated in different types of beauty pageants I realized one important takeaway, to ALWAYS DRESS & ACT LIKE A QUEEN!
We all know that a beauty queen has an unique aura to her, something you can not compare to anyone else. This is something I realized overtime to be something all women, specifically petite women should possess.
I find our height is what defaults us to thinking we can not do something or we are not good enough. However if you have a “queen-like” mindset, you wouldn't have that doubt or setback. You would be able to carry yourself with confidence, class, grace, beauty and attitude. Not only will this help us receive the things we deserve but it will also help us look at ourselves in a more positive light.
Instead of making poor judgement of ourselves for being short, or small, why won't we change our overall perspectives and create a more positive outlook instead?
I am going to give you 5 key takeaways on why you should dress like a beauty queen and how to carry yourself as one:
Confidence
ALL beauty queens have to carry confidence in order for her to become a public figure for not only her community but for her platform. She has to own who she is and can not allow the judgements of others to get to her. She is happy and fully accepts herself for the good and bad.
Attitude
A beauty queen has a good attitude about herself but also towards others. She respects who she is but also gives respect to others around her. She doesn't gossip rather she uses her time to motivate and inspire others to become better.
Grace
She is calm and elegant. She doesnt feel the need to be loud or do crazy things to get attention from others. She knows who she is and carries herself with grace where ever she goes.
Beauty
She is beautiful, not just based on her appearance. She is beautiful in the way she cares for the things that she loves. She’s passionate and driven in empowering other women and she wears her heart on her sleeve, so that she can have compassion for the people around her.
Class
She has a strong mindset and protects her energy. She knows when to walk away from things that are not serving her.
Now let's move into why beauty queens stand out:
Unique Style : ALL queens have a unique sense of style that makes them stand out. It is something we all should create for ourselves as well.
For instance, for interview attire, beauty queens must wear something that differentiates them from the rest. Something that can leave a long lasting impression on the judges. They're looks usually consists of classy, bold, form fitting attire. However never does it look tacky or over done!
In addition, what I truly love about these interview looks are that they are different and unlike your typical black blazer and trousers. Every girl stands out in their own way and posses so much confidence!
Statement pieces : I find beauty queens arent afraid to stand out and its something you shouldnt feel scared of too.
Queens wear things that no one else would wear but they are able to rock it, with confidence. I think with petite women we also should take this advice. Remember that you are never too small or short to wear something, fashion is created for ALL of us & the best thing to do is have the confidence to wear anything that makes you stand out!
Elegance: I love how what ever a beauty queen wears, she looks elegant & polished. This is important for petite women because I know we tend to feel more comfortable wearing short things. However, sometimes short things can fall into too sexy or too “club” wear attire. It is why I think its important to incorporate styles that define your body without having to reveal so much.. That is how you can pull off sexy and classy!
No matter who you are, remember to dress like a queen & act like a queen because YOU are a queen!
